Peer Pressure: How to Lead— Not Follow— Peers

A Creed for Youth
I am a Child of God.
God is my Heavenly Father. He Loves Me, and I love Him.I can pray to Heavenly Father anytime, anywhere. I am trying to remember and follow Jesus.

Dear Young Friend,

You are a son or daughter of God. Does that make you feel special? You are.

Please imagine for a moment that you are with a group of people who are all confused because they don't understand why they are here or which way to go. They are all looking at you. They start asking you which way to go.

Wondering what to do, you look upward and discover you are carrying a flag. On the flag are the words "My Standards" in large letters. In a stiff breeze the flag stands out, showing other words:

MY STANDARDS
I know—
  • Who I am
  • Why I am here
  • Which way is right

What is a standard? It is defined as follows.
standard— a conspicuous object, to mark as a rallying point, especially in battle or to serve as an emblem.
Complete Standards
When you are true to your standards, you have integrity. People respect you because:
And you are a leader. . . even a hero!
